Join Johan Klingberg in his exciting sessions with some of the world's most skilful nymph fishermen. This unique film shows Czech national team fishermen up close, as they reveal the methods that for a long time were kept secret.
You'll also be professionally taught how best to use these methods when fishing for grayling, brown and rainbow trout in Scandinavian waters.
As well as fishing and fishing methods in the Czech Republic, Sweden and Norway, you also get over an hour of extra material about fly tying etc.
The film is the first of four in the series Modern Fly Fishing.
Duration: 77 min + 78 min bonus)

  • Wohooo.. Johan is fishing in Baltak. Went there today and cought 6, by Czech nymphing style :-)

  • @NallekarkkiStudio HEY! Fuck is bad word! i never use that word on mondays!

  • @pdylan1234 WTF!!!

  • Greenhead1995

Also the flies are different, Leisenring used nymph type flies as opposed to the larvae type caddis favoured here.

  • wat the heck is the last fish? muskie?

  • Czech nymphing is actually just a updated variation of short-line high stick nymphing. The leader setup is a bit different, although a lot of the old timers would also use the high vis butt sections. Just the flies coming off the main line as droppers for faster sink rate is the main difference. Vladimir (Vladdy) is a real nice guy, I got to hang with him and a friend of his when he last came to the states. :D

  • this is not the leisenring lift this is czech nymphing the leisenring lift is where you dead drift your flies mending the line so you get zero drag and once the fly line and flies are downstream of you in the current you lift your rod so it looks like they are swimming to the surface. Czech nymphing and the leisenring lift are two different things.

  • this technique is properly known as the Eisenring lift, and i learned it 49 years ago on the provo river. most new things have only been forgotten. it has been a common nymphing method with the heavy stonefly patterns on the deschutes for years.
