A look at my new whole house fan, which I installed myself (so proud!). It's an Airscape 1.0 WHF (www.airscapefans.com) from Canada: very quiet, well-engineered, and well-insulated. I'm a 54-year old woman with only basic carpentry and electrical skills, and I had no problem installing it. It probably took me three times as long as it would take a more experienced handyperson, because I made mistakes along the way (mis-measurements etc) and had to do most steps several times to get them right. (Example: attaching the wires to the switch before I threaded the cable through the electrical box: d'oh!) However, total installation time over several days was still under 6 hours.

  • Thanks for the feedback, I have pulled the insulation away from the outlet a bit.

  • Great job on the installation! We are so glad that you are happy with our product! However, one comment we would make would be to move the insulation away from the electrical outlet to avoid any potential hazards. Thanks for sharing your excitement about your AirScape whole house fan!

  • Thank you! You made my day. :-)

  • This looks better than most pros would do.

I work on my house too, I am not a pro, but can appreciate a job well done. Great job! Scott.
