U2 was honoring the victims of 911.
And what's wrong with the American flag? Besides it representing (what may have been up until not too long ago) the most free nation known in human history. Screw you if you don't like freedom. Move to North Korea, but then you won't be afforded the FREEDOM to post your hate speech here, now would you?

As my favorite Band, U2, I was moved to have them represent the people of 911 on this memorable day. The opening to Where the Streets Have No Name was more amazing that day than any other time I heard the song.
