Tacticalgearhead.com's opinion of the Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack vs Maxpedition Jumbo as a daily EDC bag.

Regarding the straps: I have since played with every adjustment. If you like to keep your jackets open, this bag will still cause more bunching up than the Jumbo. Just the way it is designed. If you always zip up your jackets, its a non-issue and will not cause bunching up.

You will find that there is a narrow range of adjustment for which the bag is comfortable. Too tight and it doesn't slide properly. Too loose and it will fall off your shoulders.

  • Cleveland huh? Im pretty close to you....

  • @humans4targets2 yeah Andreas lives in Cleveland, Cindy and I live in Illinois. I visited Cleveland about two times a year, maybe we'll stop by one day. I know madbadvoodo lives in OH too.

  • Wow I want kill this guy, ADJUST THE STRAP ON THE SITKA IDIOT.

  • This issue has been addressed twice already in the comments. I've now added an annotation for folks who don't read comments.

Depending on your build, clothes and your needs a simple strap adjustment doesn't help. Your mileage may vary.

  • JUST ADJUST THE STRAP!!! omg

  • @VJQuixote When fitted correctly, the strap can cause bunching in loose clothing. Then adjusted to be very loose, the bag dangles too low and swings around.

Loosening and tightening the strap every time I want to swing it around is not convenient or practical. The only real solution is to keep jackets zipped.

  • Thanks for a good review. I think you brought up a lot of good points. I see your taking a lot of crap of the stika strap, I think its a good point and thanks for stressing it. A taller sling bag has to be worn much tighter to fit right, you can't have it as loose as a lower profile bag like the jumbo.

  • You guys are all so fucking harsh. Grow up and let go of the fear/hate. I for one have actually owned both these bags and he is right on many counts.

  • @TheRiflemanDan No, he looks like a poser with the military belt. He looks like a FAG with the name tapes.

  • Go with the European man purse. Its more you.

  • zip up your jacket like a normal person and you wont have a problem...and leave the name tapes to military/le personnel. You just look like a poser with name tapes on your man purse.

  • i have a sitka and im a little skinnier than the presenter and i have no problems with the bag, it might be becasue i like to zip up my jackets though...maybe in cleveland you keep your jackets open i dont know, but with a zipped up jacket the bag slides to the front just fine.

  • I've wondered about the Sitka strap and my jacket. Lots of people are talking about strap adjustment (loosening and such) but perhaps even loose it will sort of pull and bind the jacket. I suppose just keeping the jacket zipped up will help to some extent but I guess then there's overheating.

I like these comparison reviews. You reviewed two concepts that I'm looking at and in that, this video has really helped me by giving me insight into both.

  • the built in whistle does work just fine but since its small u hato do it differently than regular ones. hint. tuck your lips in and then proceed to blow into it. works for me

  • If you don't like how the sitka rests. Loosen up the strap einstein.

  • @sebs30v That will not work my friend. The gearslingers are made to sit a little high on your chest, not on your midsection.
