Whipping Boy 'Tripped' recorded live in the Red Box, Dublin on February 18 1997. The gig was broadcast on MTV's Live'n'Direct.

LYRICS:
It's easy to believe in you
Reasons to cast doubt on me
Easy to believe in you, in you
I'll put my faith in womanhood
Just like my mother said I would
Easy to believe in you, in you, in you

Was I the only one to know
That she'd been letting go
Accept your mind and your body lives
She had nothing left to give

Need you to fall back on to
Need me more than I need you
Easy to be just like you like you
I've lost my faith in all things good
Just like mother said I would
You'll be left there on the shelf
Can't save someone from themselves

Was I the only one to know
That she'd been letting go
Accept your mind and your body lives
She had nothing left to give

She tripped, she tripped
She had nothing left to give
Except you
You know you were the only one
You said to me, why did you stop
You know you were the only one
You said to me, why did you stop
Alone again alone

  • It's great that they reformed but I haven't heard a word about them since they did Oxegen in 2006. Hope they'll release another album.

  • it looks like the reunion is finished with, so another album is unlikely.

  • Damn. You've just ruined my week. :/

Say...you wouldn't happen to have the Red Box gig on tape would you?

  • sorry mate, you would have had to find out sometime. But yes I do have the gig on tape.. how do you think I got it onto YouTube ;) I'm hoping to transfer it to DVD in a few months so you might prefer that instead. I know a few people are looking for a copy.

  • I'd love to buy a copy of that dvd if it ever came about!

I met a inebriated Ferghal McKee in Whelan's a couple of months ago and he said he's baking pies in Leitrim and working on some post World War music....might just have been the Guinness talking... It was unbelievable to meet him though. I just recognised his voice in the smoking area coz he was standing beside me and I nearly had a fit

  • I would love a copy of that DVD i'd even but it off you.So sad they stopped gigging again!!

  • If there was a copy of the dvd going around, I would be really grateful for a copy! :)

  • most underrated group ever. i love every single track off the heartworm album. submarine isnt that bad either; and their final self-titled release kicked ass as well. i love every single verse of tripped...this band is sooo good. memories! what MIGHT have been...
