I've tried the shift-key but it still boots to Win7 -which I had set as the default startup disk. I figure this is why the shift-key isn't working. Is there another way to boot to safe-mode?

if my macbook pro freeze in blue screen, shall i wait until it boot up by itself or shall i restart it in safe mode? all my files have not been saved, so, if its in safe mode, shall i recover and backup in another external hard disk?

hi @akmalrosli i seem to be having the same problem. When you said you had to cut the clip, how long did you have to wait until the login/startup page came up? I left mine for 2 days and still no luck (stuck at the white screen with apple). Thanks in advance
