When Rita Hayworth swirled and twirled on our screens with such dazzling poise and unimaginable beauty, everyone in the world wanted to either dance with her, or dance like her.

Rita Hayworth is one of the few classic actresses who still fascinates audiences today. Whether it be a sweet chirpy lady in Rusty, the femme fatale Elsa or the Princess Salome, Rita never failed to give a spectacular performance.

Perhaps the most mesmerising of all her work is her performance as the wicked Gilda; a character who has achieved mythical status like Helen of Troy and Cleopatra.

Aside from that extradordinary talent, presence and beauty, Rita Hayworth was one of the sweetest women in the world, a loving mother to her two daughters Rebecca and Yasmin, and courageous fighter of Alzheimer's disease, which she sadly passed away from.

My interest in movies began with Rita Hayworth, so this tribute is long overdue.

I chose the first theme of "Your Song Instrumental" from Moulin Rouge! to focus on that magical face, and then "Im Happy Just To Dance With You" by The Beatles to show off her great dancing abilities and happy characters whom many say she resembled more in real life.

This if for you Rita!

  • Great video! You have a knack for being really creative and piecing together something that has bound to be moving :) I love how the video has two tones, the first sentimental, being gorgeous, beautiful, and a love goddess, and then amusing and light, and colorful, comedienne-like to Rita's personality. I think you really captured the legend of Rita Hayworth and her different essences, I'm surprised by how much I like the second part, since I don't really like the Beetles, I was shocked to know

  • thank you for this wonderful comment Emily, Im glad you appreciate the two tones of the video!

  • Excellent video my compliments. It doesn't get any better than her - she is a goddess, her mannerisms, her style her beauty - simply outstanding ...

I saw Gilda and was simply mesmerized. Breathtakingly beautiful and her character is portrayed to perfection - the pain in her eyes reflecting a melancholy longing for love - just exquisite...

But its about all of her performances and her natural dignity that sets her apart from anyone else as the epitome of female perfection ...

  • Wow is all

  • Probably the best tribute thus so far. Supernaturally beautiful and wonderfully talented. Rita was in a class by herself. Women were so much more beautiful back then.
