This is the elevator at this very old Macy*s store, which opened in 1954 as a Gimbels. The brand of this elevator is a bit of a mystery, but this and the freight elevator are similar to the Green Acres Mall Macy*s elevators, which also opened as a Gimbels, opened just 2 years after this, and has confirmed Seaberg elevators. This has an original floor indicator outside, but it's hard to tell who made it. Anyways, this elevator is SEVERELY vandalized, and the so-called vandal-resistant EPCO SSL fixtures aren't holding up well at all. This isn't in the nicest neighborhood, so it isn't that surprising. The elevator is very small, too, and is basically identical in size to the Green Acres Mall Macy*s elevator, but with the COP in another position. This store has OTIS escalators, in case you're curious, but that doesn't mean anything about the elevator brand.

That elevator needs a Kruppy mod BADLY! If the store had any sense, they would put an operator on it. The people who ride that elevator can be down right nasty and rude. I think it's an OTIS - I've heard what the motor sounds like without the fan, it sounds just like RF. Also, that indicator looks a lot like a late '40's early '50's OTIS indicator. That INCHline lantern used to work too. :(

@suzzex it's real sad, since Monmouth Mall and Menlo Park already got EPCO (like this) but both got kruppy mods. maybe it's a jersey thing :D

@suzzex the freight motor sounds a bit like macy's RF too. but look at the floor plate, that doesn't look otis. plus the freight has peelle doors and they look original.
