The band take their name from the fan club members of The Cavern Club in Liverpool, the most famous club in the world, the club that saw the birth of The Beatles and showcased all the top bands during the Sixties.
Britain in 1962, and especially Liverpool, was a place where the Rock n' Roll of the fifties had been fused with American R'n'B by the local beat groups, to create a raw, high-energy brand of music which was honed in sweaty pubs and clubs, such as The Cavern Club in Liverpool, and The Kaiserkeller, Indra and Star clubs in Hamburg.
The Cavernites re-create those days and the birth of what became known as Mersey Beat or The Liverpool or Mersey Sound a musical style that took the UK by storm, influencing countless groups across the country.
The Cavernites recreate this era performing classic hits from groups like The Beatles, The Searchers, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Mersey's, The Hollies, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who and many other hit groups from the Sixties.
The Cavernites bring The Sixties back to life, taking the audience on a Magical Musical History Tour, through One of the greatest musical decades of all time, it's a fast and vibrant show, designed to get everyone dancing along.
The Cavernites are an accurate live recreation of a Sixties pop group during the Beatlemania years as seen on shows like 'Ready Steady Go' and 'Top of the Pops' authentically recreating not only the look but the live sound of the bands they perform, bring back the vibrancy and passion of the original bands and transporting the audience right back to the Sixties.
The Cavernites use original instruments from the period, names like Rickenbacker, Epiphone, Gibson, and the famous Hofner Violin Beatle Bass, together with a pearl Ludwig drum kit, they also use original amplifiers, names such as Marshal and Vox. The Sixties look is completed by the use of original stage clothes including the classic Sixties style thin lapelled suits, narrow leg trousers, White button down collared shirts, thin ties and the famous Cuban heeled Black Beatle boots.
The Cavernites have performed their unique show all over the UK and abroad, in 2008 for Liverpool's capitol of culture year they performed an outdoor show on a floating stage at Liverpool's Albert Dock to over 30,000 Beatles fans on the August bank holiday Monday.
In 2010 The Cavernites performed Ten sell out performances at The International Beatles festival in Liverpool at the legendary Cavern club, performing on the famous Cavern wall stage and also the Cavern Live Lounge stage, the very same stage that Paul McCartney performed on, on his return to the Cavern in 1999.
In 2011 The Cavernites made their debut in Ireland and performed both outdoor and indoor shows at Beatlefest Ireland, they also for the second year running performed at the annual Beatles festival in Liverpool playing sell out shows at the famous Cavern Club as well as performing on the main stage at the Adelphi Hotel.
In 2012 The Cavernites will again perform at Beatlefest Ireland as well as performing at the worlds biggest Beatles festival in America, the famous 'Abbey Road on the River' Beatles festival in Louiville Kentucky.
As well as starring in their own Sixties Theatre show that will take the boys across the UK, and bookings for UK open air festivals, and major Sixties and Beatles events in Europe yet to be announced its looking like another busy year for The Cavernites.
The Cavernites are available for any type of function, from corporate entertainment to private parties, hotels, holiday centres, outdoor festivals, social clubs, live music venues, and theatres.
The Cavernites are a fully professional group whose members have a wide range of experience performing in the tribute band world, Three members have been former members of top Beatles tribute bands portraying John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison, because of this pedigree the boys perform a show that is the best of both worlds as well as having that Beatle look and sound and using authentic Beatles instruments, the audience also gets classic hits from many other great acts of the Sixties, all performed with the passion and vibrancy of the original groups, performed totally live, The Cavernite's show is more than just a tribute, it's the closest you can get to being back in the Sixties!.
