I know most people even Smithees thought Sting was great in this film but personally it was a complete disaster of casting. He was too much the iconic 80's pop singer in those days and I just couldn't place him in the era of Dune and felt the character of Rautha suffered in a way that the other actors succeeded in injecting epic gravitas into theirs (and the cockney accent didn't help either).. Even in this scene, I'm bracing myself for it to suddenly transform into a pop video lol
