1881 Patrina Williams Carousel at Six Flags Great Adventure

This is the Patrina Williams carousel at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ. It was built as a transportable carousel for the Patrina Williams Traveling Circus in England. It should be noted that Patrina was Mr. Williams daughter. It traveled England and Europe with occasionaly sitting in storage until it came here in 1974. The carousel was designed and built by Fredrick Savage. The model number is 861 and runs clockwise as it's considered more proper to mount (get on) the horse from the right side. That's why most European carousels run clockwise most American made carousels run counter clockwise. This carousel has 24 horses and 12 cockrels with a ride time of 2 min and an hourly capacity of 864 people.
