This info-spot presents a quick overview of Dr. Roland A. Carlstedt's evidence-based athlete assessment and mental training program. Dr. Carlstedt is a well known sport psychologist and award winning researcher whose protocol is leading the way in science-based sport psychology. Interested athletes, coaches and teams can contact him at rcarlstedt@americanboardofsportpsychology.org and learn more about his research and methods by linking to www.americanboardofsportpsychology.org (see Chair's Page). Dr. Carlstedt works with elite, developing and amateur/hobby athletes worldwide and his clients include the Polish Tennis Federation, London Harlequin professional rugby team, Gilad Bloom tennis academy and numerous individual athletes from a variety of sports including baseball, tennis, golf, basketball, soccer, rugby, equestrian and football. His findings are relevant to almost all sports that have self-paced pre-action phases or pauses. The American Board of Sport Psychology offers training, certification and tuition-based internships and visiting fellowships. Dr. Carlstedt's book Critical Moments During Competition: A MInd-Body Model of Sport Performance when it Counts the Most (Psychology Press, 2004) and DVD, The Carlstedt Protocol: Science-Based Sport Psychology can be ordered via the publisher or Dr. Carlstedt. Jay Amari a New York City based actor plays a crazed coach and guru who spouts cliches of the trade that are essentially meaningless. • Damn this is good...!

  • I had a Tennis Dad like this. I hope all the future Tennis Dads and Coaches of America and elsewhere look at this instructional approach. Seems like a lot of bad habits could be avoided and possibly New Sports Stars of tommorrow could be groomed from this technique.

  • Fantastic video- powerful and to the point! This sports focusing video look like an excellent teaching tool.

  • Wow, this looks great, even if I must say so myself.
