Today an euthonasia was performed by the vet to my Senegal parrot. Got an nasty eye infection. Can't control my tears while watching this video.

senegal parrots have a big personality and are a bit hyper compared to other parrots (except caiques of course) which makes them so special!

I have 2 cocktail birds but what's weird is that they never eat there seeds instead they wander around like nomads in the cage eating paper and other things. Also they never eat there seeds only when I hand feed them :(

how cute is that..

Use the DNA method by collecting a discarded feather. Not traumatic at all.

Have you had kili sexed or do you just assume shes a girl? I have a senegal and I assume he's a boy. I wanted to get him sexed but I'm afraid it'd be to traumatic for him

@cjocd Kili just says hello and does the cat call on rare occasions. She didn't really start doing any vocalizations until closer to one year old.

so cute! can they learn language?
lemurfan123 1 year ago
@lemurfan123 At this point in time it is not believed that any non-human animal is capable of using language. However, the Alex studies have been demonstrating a limited ability use referential labeling in Psittacines. Most parrots can mimic sounds, vocalize, and some can imitate human speech.
