I know Simon well and have a huge amount of respect for him. He is one of the few people with a solid and well-founded understanding of the process of technological change. He is also one of the few people that talk about new technological paradigms from an impartial perspective (rather than the usual vendor spiel). Good talk.

"Not since Mein Kampf" & "non-fact-based naked assertion" - ah, looks like I've trampled over someone's pet ideas.

7+ yrs of collecting data (evolution curve alone represents 9,000+ data points), publication in both private and a peer reviewed journal, three years of prediction testing and successful use in industry and Government is enough to call it "weak hypothesis".

Now, should you "believe" it - absolutely not, you should always be skeptical.

Not since Mein Kampf have I encountered such a weird collection of non-fact-based naked assertion. How and why are we to believe any of these observations are true? "Simon Says," I guess.
