Dr David Pilgrim, vice president of diversity and equity at Ferris
State University and founder of the Jim Crow Museum of Racist
Memoribilia, came to give a lecture and workshop on "Using Objects of
Intolerance to Teach Tolerance: A View from the Jim Crow Museum of
Racist Memorabilia". The lecture was sponsored by the Centre for
Ethographic and Exhibition in the Aftermath of Violence
(http://cerev.concordia.ca). The piece focuses on how David and the
new museum (which will soon be moving in to a new space) can use these
objects to create dialogue and understanding, and use the museum to
tell a variety of stories, including stories of resistence and hope.
