A SSB Brawl instructional video by me. Hope it helps!

Includes Zelda OoT images and some Koji Kondo music. And I actually had to make the 3D GCN controller model for a class believe it or not.

Oh and another application is punishment kinda like for surprise...if you sheild certain characters Fsmash you can follow up with DACUS to nice effect.

Also check out my Yoshi ETS vid here:

  • Please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you supposed to hit C-stick Down before you tap Up?

Not Right > Up > C-stick Down > Attack but

    Right > C-stick Down > Up + Attack?

  • @Amaranthine69 the Up is to get the upsmash but it doesn't have to be right before attack, the control execution is so tight anyways.. I do Up first to emphasize that because i think thats what can mess it up alot if you're only doing like an uptilt

  • random question, but is this technique more powerful then a running+ up C-stick. It looks pretty similar other then the fact that you slide farther.

  • @denvicole1 nah same thing just boosted distance...it can help u get a tipper more easily tho

  • Im a veteran smash player who wasnt able to dacus with sheik AT ALL before watching this vid. You truly saved my ass man.

However my recomendation is to use 'Z' for attack instead. I do this because u need to push the trigger button all the way down for the game to register the input which can be very frustrating especially with sheik's DACUS (u need every frame u can get)

Im now usin 'Y' & 'R/L+ Shield' as my grab. (gamecube controller)

Just another variation that i found works well

  • @ScaryEskimo i think i've heard of you actually...glad it helped!

You may be right about the Z thing, I just started with R because its less intrusive on the controls (I can just shield with L and grab is same)

Another option could be to take the spring out of your R button which some people do anyways because its easier to powershield i've heard...But I've gotten used to my way pretty well and its just whatever your comfortable with.

  • agh yet another thing tap jump screws me out of. i cant play without TJ and manage 1 dacus for every 50 attempts because of it and its so irritating

  • This video is still useful after a few years ^ ^

  • thx a lot i was waiting a long time for a good dacus-video of ssbb

  • Sexy.

  • Thank you! When I used to play with wii mote and nun chuck I could easily accomplish this. But now that I use gc it was hard until I watched your video

  • i loved the mk example :3

  • Man, I love how this video is so Zelda themed. Nice work, man.

  • this is an amazing tutorial. thank you!

  • Your way seems very innovative, because even though you stop running when you press up on the control stick, you can still do a dash attack when your character puts on the breaks to stop. giving you a head start to do the DACUS. So now I only have to time the Z button right and not that mangy stick.

  • THANK YOU SO MUUCH i love your way!!!! its awesome! i just need to practice ur way a bit more then i can master it !
