  • a base drummer and a snare drummer from the corp i'm in are going to try to join them. If anyone can, I'm sure they can do it I haven't seen a better duo than them before.

I wish i had one of those base drums, they're awesome!

  • What corp are you with?

  • Too bad they're going modern. Love the gut snare sound, but without the calf heads, it's not the same. Love the open rolls, but if you're not adjusting for a calf head and the current weather conditions, it's not the same.

  • i like the old school drumming a lot more... this new stuff may be played well, but it's crap.

  • @mbt1329: It's "bass" not "base" drum.

BTW, besides performing for the public, The Old Guard is an active duty Army infantry unit. As quick as the tricorne hats and 18th Century parade gear goes on, it comes off just as quick for ACUs, IBAs, M4 rifle and full "battle rattle" with Bradleys and Strykers.

  • Didn't think Glenn Miller was around in the 1760s !

  • My favorite time period for warfare, and I love the marching, and military music as well.

  • Awesome!

  • @KANONSIONNI

    poor idiot

  • at that time musicians always wore coats in the reverse colours of the rest of the regiment...for visibility in the field...for example a british rgt who wore green facings on the red coats would have had drummers in green coats with red collars and cuffs...marty

  • Apprently, the musicians of the era in the Continental army adopted the red as their color. Of course, I just read that on another video. Not my area of expertise.
