I think both Kefka and Sephiroth are awsome.
Sephiroth = Disturbed man who was once a good warrior turned spiteful of the human race when he thought that an evil alien creature was his mother. He has an infinite god-complex that complements his incredible strength.
Kefka = Nihilistic, destructive, and insane. He wants to destroy all for his pleasure of seeing peoples' hopes and dreams ripped apart. He sees no absolute value in life and wants to blow up the world for the heck of it.

I don't know why Sephiroth fans get upset by the "momma's boy" quip because that was a joke that started from a Final Fantasy cosplay gathering. Kefka fans laughed, Sephiroth fans laughed, even Yoshitaka Amano laughed.
