Unbelievable!!!!! I'm a drummer and a huge fan of the Cars. You nailed this solo note for note-and for added authenticity you're left handed like Elliot Easton! You should be in a Cars tribute band. I'll watch this video many more times I'm sure. Great job you're a very good player! Please try Touch and Go as well.

Even with the tab I could only ever play the first part but not quite nail the whammy bar part. Thanks for posting the slowed down part I can finally play the whole solo. In my opinion the best of ALL The Cars songs! (solo-wise)

you did an excellent job, especially with the vibrato, almost identical to easton. I have one problem though, i think that the trill at 1:28, up around the 10th fret - should actually be a tremelo bar depression rather than a pull-off.

Impresionante, amigo. Suenas idéntico que el original.
What is a Floyd Rose?

Cheers Gmansi!
I can figure out you are not too techie about guitars, anyway the Floyd Rose is a kind of tremolo bridge invented in the early '80s, whose first user was Eddie Van Halen, and which became very popular among rock guitarists from then on. Elliot's guitar most probably had a Floyd fitted, or at least in the video, he mimes on a Floyd Rose-equipped guitar.
