Nova is a kick ass comic, not because of the powers that Nova has (and he's quite powerful at this point), but because he has 'Captain America' morality and has to deal with issues like saving a planet, or doing some very harsh things in order to do what's right. Being a hero is a duty, and he's respected throughout the galaxy for it.
Remember when he ripped Annihilus's heart out?
People know that when Nova's on the scene, someones doing to do what he says, or he's going to kick some ass.
