Though June didn't have a good record in his first season (1-11 in 2008), he did lead SMU to a 9-4 record and a Hawaii Bowl win in 2009, and a 7-7 record (7-5 regular season record with losses in the C-USA championship game and the Armed Forces Bowl). As a Hawaii fan, I wish he had stayed in the islands, but as a football fan, it is nice to see SMU football on the rebound. The Mustangs should have a good shot at the C-USA championship in 2011.

Just hope June Jones can revive the Pony Express like he did Hawaii. Guess we'll have to start paying our players now again. Haha just kidding.

i a huge hawaii fan and i beleve that now SMU got June Jones there getting into a bowl nwxt year just like we did junes first year

Mahalo Nui Loa June Jones for your 9 years at Hawaii. UH thought JJ would'nt leave. So they let his cotract expired at the end of the Sugar Bowl. Only when they heard that SMU offered him a contract, Hawaii scrambled to counter offer. WHAT A BUNCH OF ASSES RUNNING UH @ MANOA.

Only our AD could pull this off. No other team would ever let a guy who goes 12-0 and gives us a sugar bowl get stretched to this point. This is just F'N RIDICULOUS!!!! Herman should be SHOT! He single handedly just killed hawaii's football program. June jones was and forever will be hawaii football. We'll never have what we had this year again. Period. You can take that to the bank.
