It is certainly impressive, but no, it's not a PS3 doing most of the computing. They have a rather LARGE pile of blade servers working on this.

I hope you people know.. That ray tracing is great indeed.

but..
this demo lacks serious detail and polygon count, if games like god of war 3 used full real time raytracing the frame rate would be murdered!!

like 2/60fps and thats cutting it some slack.

It was rendered using exactly the same CELL broadband processor in the PS3. This isn't next gen rendering. By no means, is it anywhere close, to what's going to be archiveable with the lower nm process.

Probably never. This is several Cell processors working together. Realtime raytracing is a while away still... and by the time that much power is able to be fit inside one console, we'll be using the PS5 probably:P
