Twilight Princess: Morpheel - No Zora Armor - 3 Water Bombs

At the beginning of Morpheel's 2nd phase, there are two different patterns Morpheel will use. In this video, the pattern Morpheel uses at the beginning of the 2nd phase is the one you want in a speedrun. I swim with a water bomb and hold up/left on the analog stick. You should be able to clawshot Morpheel and make it to the ground without drowning if he uses this pattern.

In the other pattern, there is virtually no way to clawshot him quickly the 1st time because Morpheel swims too high up.

After using the 2nd water bomb to refill your air gauge, be patient and watch Morpheel's pattern. If you time it right, you can use a water bomb and refill your air gauge just before Morpheel sucks you in. After he sucks you in, clawshot Morpheel, attack, and prompt Midna again after he shakes you off. L-target Morpheel and swim toward him a bit. Then clawshot Morpheel once more and do the finishing blow. You will barely make it before drowning.

If you are really lucky, when you use your 3rd water bomb you can just clawshot Morpheel without him using the suction attack.

It usually takes me 5 or 6 water bombs. It took me awhile before I could do it with 3.

Awesome, but there is the life meter issue of this strat?

The timing is tight, but you can still kill Morpheel before barely drowning. I released the 3rd water bomb 3 seconds before Morpheel sucked me in. The best way obviously is to clawshot Morpheel immediately after using the 3rd water bomb...something I haven't been able to do using only 3 waterbombs. It is possible though.

Yeah, I said it was impossible. I assumed that there would be no way not to drown after Morpheel shook me off and never really tried that hard as a result.

I have the same capture card. It looks better when there are a lot of dark areas in the background. It looks the worst when there is a lot of light and I'm moving around a lot. More pixelation and quality break up occur with light + a lot movement for some reason.
