An individual will pay thousands and thousands of dollars to a jewish university to get education but when it comes to paying a scholar who speaks of the ahle bayt, is this that big of an issue?!?! ppl are upset because hes right. realize it and change pls. we live in a country were we all can afford it believe me. in one majlis there must be over 500 ppl, 5 dollars, not even for one day you cant afford that!! don't eat a fancy dinner meal for one night im sure ur not going to starve to death!!

Unfortunately, people get blinded by a person who can speak the language well, and forget that the purpose is knowledge and understanding of message of Ahale-ul-bait. Is ziker-e-Ahalul-Bait for the purpose of fancy cars and flashy Dressing?

@mukhtar5420 Brother, I do agree with what you have to say but at the same time many of these speakers dedicate extensive time and effort to learn and perfect their knowledge so that they may spread it in other words this is their profession of course they still need to make a living somehow in order to support their families. To pay a speaker who dedicate their time to spread their knowledge I do not think is too much to ask.

@TheAnneJDelkem I agree as a community it is our responsibility to support our scholars and make sure that they can support their families, but on the same note there is a very delicate balance between the two. When a speaker asks outrageous amounts to spread the knowledge of Ahl-e-bait and request 1st class plane tickets to recite majalis that is unacceptable. To top it off calling other Ulema that do not demand a fee a "DISEASE" is wrong how ever you look at it.

@syedalubahussain Doing something wrong openly in the public does not make it right. It just shows that one has just lost there inner voice of reason and rational and that Hub-e Duniya, "GREED", has totally clouded their judgemnet. Do not confuse the issue here, what was said was clear... you don't need to crack out a dictionary to explain it. We need to take off our blinders and reassess our priorties in life before letting a speaker enter our center and address our children and community.

There is a diff. b/w giving what one can afford and a speaker demanding a fee. Muharram should not be commercialized..the event of Kerbala should not be viewed as commodity. People get confused with the argument of "The Alim has to feed his family" this not about the family, but about greed and Hub-e Dunya.Calling other Ulema a"Disease" is wrong.
