An unedited video of the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington DC.

Please take a look at Video History Today http://www.videohistorytoday.com , the first web site to offer unique collections of re-usable original video clips designed for teachers and students.

The idea behind Video History Today is to give schools the raw material to make mini-documentaries and video essays on historical subjects.

Initial packages focus on World War I (Somme and Ieper areas), The Holocaust, the American Civil War and D-Day & Normandy 1944.

  • US Military Perfection!

  • What if your son or daughter was missing in action....this is the tomb of the unknown soldier....people need to show more respect to our military

  • God bless our troops. All of you should have respect for our soldiers. They are sacrificing their lives and all they have so you can sit on the couch, watch tv, and be lazy all day long.... Have some respect...you should be thankful...

  • @timothytwin61

    well said

  • @Seasnain Graet question! What he is doing is ensuring that the "Sight and windage" adjustments on the rifle are clean and working. The are used to change the rifles sight from close range to long range. Again, Great observation on your part!

  • This is so cool!

  • At around 3:05, the soldier making the inspection seems to do something with the sight of the gun. Why exactly does he do that? Was it a small correction or something that is normally done?

  • @deerhunter7979 No, I don't wear them at all, made keeping that rule easier and it was and still is always yes sir, no sir and yes ma'am, no ma'am. The looks I get from some people for saying that is a look of shock. I guess people just aren't use to it anymore.

  • @HKapollo I too remember getting slapped or worse by being disrespectful to those that deserved respect. Glad to know there are some of us around.

I take my hat off indoors too, Do you?
