There is an excellent version of this song on the LP "Tomorrow is So Far Away" by the English group Design, released in 1971 on Epic.

@Alwintor For "king" read "kind" !!
@elyeye66 I suspect you are thinking of the Aussie group also called The Groop who were a king of bluesy/rock band.
Some of the Sunshine Pop was really nice. I always loved the four-part harmonies of two women and two men. These guys were good but never got any radio play.
