What if I disagree with your central bank, your bridge, and want to spend my money elsewhere and not use your bridge, what then?
-
The ends do not justify the means, it is not justifiable to use force on another human being, unless in self defense, so you cannot say that "oh these people can", that will attract a certain type of people, like the people in the current gov, who will seek out the monopoly on force and profit on the backs of othersSo no, get off your ass and build the bridge, collectively get together with others to build that bridge, your voluntary association but stealing from others is wrong
-
If you look at the capitalist history of the USA, the state has always gave oligopolies the upper hand, once the railroads were built by voluntary means in the USA, the state took them over and gave certain oil companies control.
It is absurd to say that effects determine somethings merit, Einsteins research on nuclear power is not bad because it led to nuclear power, it is dishonest philsophy, 1st principles matter.
Socialism is built on the initiation of force.
-
What is a free market to you?
The State is a foolish monopoly on force that results in NOTHING but bad, it is completely illogical to say only a select few of people can use violence on peaceful people. Bridges can be built by voluntary means, you do not need to steal from people through the state, that in fact wastes a lot more money.
Nihilist?
LOLIdk what could be a more absurd charge, I am the one saying that people do not need to have force used on them, we should be free

@RyanR3volution Here we have another non sequitur. "If it is voluntary or not" - private companies create cartels and oligopolies whenever they have the chance. ¿You'll defend that because it's voluntary? Voluntary or not, it's effects MATTER. And yes, you judge a social system by it's effects. ¿Don't you libertarians judge socialism because it's effects were harmful? ¿Do you realise you are contradicting yourself?
-
@RyanR3volution ¿And the free-market is built on "freedom"? One word for you: ORGANIZATION. State can and does use force. But the building of a bridge can by no means be violent. The State hires a couple of workers, it directs them, and builds the goddam bridge. JUST like any company. ¿What's the story? ¿You call that force? You are a nihilist, like Von Hayek. Anything the state does is violent. But when a company does the same (or worse) it is called "the freedom of the market"
-
It is philosophically dishonest to argue that something is good or bad by its effects. What matters is whether the thing is voluntary or not.
Government counterfieters are no less bad than "semi private, semi public" ones.
The fed only exists because the bankers used the gov to give them a artificial monopoly.
Laws protecting working people? lol, you obviously have never seen the charts of before and after the laws.
Stop dressing up violence on peaceful people.
-
The best founding father was Jefferson but he was a hypocrite who misused his power, Madison was the one who tried to ruin the Articles of Confederation and did.
Government is built on a violent non-voluntary system, if you build a bridge on violence and economic fallacies, it is going to collaspe.
Education, HC, and can be provided through voluntary means and better, instead of force.
Again, you completely ignore the cause of the Great Depression and 08 crisis...
-
@RyanR3volution Ok. You hate the founding father of your country, who fighted against the british empire while the confederates licked their imperialist boots. No. USA was great because of the american system of economics. Yes, government intervention, ¿what's the problem? Labor unions, laws protecting working people, health care, education, all this stuff, without this USA would had been JUST ANOTHER BRITISH COLONY. Know your history.
-
@RyanR3volution No. I am not defending the current FED, ¿who told you that? ¿do you think I am defending Bernanke and his fellow masters? No... no. What I am doing is telling you THE PRIME cause of the depression, ¡THE DERIVATIVES! No House bubble, no inflation, none of this would have ocurred if the banksters did not have their trillions in toxic derivatives to save... ¿And how derivatives came to existence? ¡DE-REGULATION DURING THE 80's by REAGAN!
This guy must be Austrian he sounds like the Governator.

"the most committed people on the internet" from ALL sides of the equation.
You don't think there is bias in non-electronic material? Why would you believe ONE company's material any more?
Are you aware that at the end of WWII Rockefeller foundations paid for the "definitive" version of WWII history to be written? THEIR version of history? All textbooks since derive from that. Are you comfortable with that? I'm not. "History is written by the victors." And those with money. But not wikipedia!
