I think he was referring to just the flag burning at the end being cut from the dvd, not the entire segment.

In the dvd version, they censor out the sound of him sniffing his nose when he says the last part of that line.

..Not totally sure why they did that, but my best guess is that the company in charge of the dvd release (Paramount??) found it 'excessively tasteless'.
