This really seems more like a song about losing a relative rather than a romantic partner, in my opinion. "Where blood is our only tie" & "I wanted to make you proud" makes it seem like he's talking about his mom or dad or something.

Guess it can be interpreted in different ways though.

It's a beautiful song nonetheless.

We express our "life stories" because sometimes we just want someone to listen.With the world we live in it seems all we do is knock each other down to boost ourselves up,but to talk about your problems in your time of need,and have someone to understand & care?There's no better feeling in the world.The saying "Let me drop everything for your problem?" shouldn't be out of sarcasm or hate,it should be heartfelt and true.We were created to love others and care about there problems more than ours.

@kasadija957 If this helps them deal with their problems more then why wouldn't they? I mean it isn't really bothering anyone. If you don't want to read the comments then you don't have to, or you could just not reply to any of them. I'm really not trying to be a jerk or anything, just saying for other people's sake. Sometimes a song and other people's shared experiences help more than anything else.

Could someone explain why under all good songs in comments people always tell us our life story? I have enough problems in my life, just like everybody else. I come here to listen to beautiful song because it makes me feel better, then I scroll down the page to see does other people like this song as well and after reading first 3 sad relationship stories I get even more depressed and annoyed.

People, I know you have had a hard life, but no one really cares, especially not strangers.
