The all new AV8OR ACE is a fully functional Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) that includes instrument approach charts, low and high altitude en route charts—all for under $2000. The AV8OR ACE builds on many of the popular features from the AV8OR handheld MFD, but adds new functions and a large touchscreen. Part 2 of this video reviews the AV8OR Ace's four main options: Go Fly, Go Drive, Multimedia and Settings. Additional highlights include:
•Fuel price information for every airport, updated via the internet
•Optional Go Drive mode provides turn-by-turn driving directions
Optional interfaces:
XM Weather: View Nexrad radar, METARs, TAFs, cloud tops, graphical SIGMETs and AIRMETs. A separate WxWorx receiver is required. Receivers are available with either a traditional cable connection or with a wireless Bluetooth connection. XM Receivers must be purchased through WxWorx (www.wxworx.com).
I recently received the ACE. I am impressed. It is a build onto everything in the hand-held unit. If you have the hand-held unit and are wondering what the size difference is between the two, it's essentially the same width of the av8or and about 2.5 times the height. I purchased it for the IFR charts but the added screen size makes it a much more user appreciated unit than 4.3 screen units like the 496 or av8or. Garmin's 696 lacks Enroute charts and geo-referencing which this unit provides!

I currently have the Av8or hand-held. It is an amazing unit. In my opinion it rivals those offered by Garmin. Reasonably priced. The only drawback between the Av8or and Garmin units is the lack of inclusive built in XM WX receiver. There is a separate unit you can purchase to get xm wx in the cockpit, which is the reason I purchased it in the first place. I am looking forward to upgrading to the ACE. Amazing unit that adds to what I already know to be a solid gps. Now that it has legal charts.
