Interesting that the cast of EVITA was presented to the Queen, since Elizabeth's parents (King George VI and his Queen Consort Elizabeth) refused to invite the real Evita to Buckingham Palace during her infamous Rainbow Tour. Princess Elizabeth was around 21 at the time (1947).

@lcowles Agreed. Hal Prince tried to recreate the London production on Broadway. He didn't care what happened to Patti.

@fountainchain126 Have you read Patti's autobiography that just came out? Her experience during Evita was deplorable and the cast treated her like s$#t and kept saying, "Elaine did it THIS way. Elaine did it THAT way." As an actor, you're NEVER to direct another actor. That's the director's job. When she said she'd like to discover the character on her own, the 3 chorus girls imported from the London production kept trying to sabotage her...all while she's trying to carry a Broadway show.

Isn't it weird how Elaine Paige never complained as much as Patti Lupone did - how tough the role of Eva is/was? I find it interesting that Elena Roger, Elaine Paige and all other Evas seemed to slide over the role without any complaints in public anyway...... why Patti?

Hi rubyangst, I have uplaoded all footage from the South bank show. I have an idea that there may have been a program about Hal Prince, which is where the footage of Evita rehearsals originally came from. So there could be more footage out there of that show.
