Was driving along on the freeway then he comes up and challenges me.Stock 2008 Mustang GT vs ls1 Trans am Ram-air.(Unknown mods but could tell it wasn't stock).Sorry about the language.Race was from about 60-110 ish ( Race computer generated and/or filmed in mexico)

  • Up were good yes,but shit not as good.even my friends cobalt ss turbo beat me,granted at 4000 ft elevation.id love to still have an ls1 and a mustang.if ur gonna talk,state facts,not fanboyism.also don't forget,depends how fast a shifter can shift,and as well as if the engine came out strong .u get a lot of engines that aren't broken in correctly by salesman who drive them new hard.damn people

  • @wellshii Clearly you are clueless... a low 13 second car from a 4.6 281 was slow? Ford didn't build the 5.0 just to compete with the new camaro... most people need to understand that. Fact of the matter is... LS1 and ls2 camaros are slower than the 03-04 Cobra... and the Ls1 runs neck and neck with mach 1 most of the time

  • @thetravdawg Both cars, owned in my garage. I don't have to prove anything. I should actually post a list of all the times the Trans Am has been in the shop. As far as just speed, the Mustang eats the Trans Am up. Again, the Trans Am has higher miles. But it does not have the pull of this Mustang. OH WAIT, LS1's trap 102-107mph. Not true. That's some more misinformation from some fbody forums out there on the web. Post back all ya want, but I have stock (exhaust only) LS1 and 3v GT.

    It is absolutely relevant when comparing two vehicles that have similar hp/torque/weight (like the 3v GTs vs LS1 FBODYs). Equally driven the car with more hp/torque will win, especially when they make their power several hundred rpm sooner.

    The 300+ hp engines your are referencing are 4v and not in Mustang GTs, stick to the topic. 3v vs LS1. I am aware of the merits of the 4v engines, they're great if you want a F/I car but all motor they are a waste of time vs LS1.

    LS1 FBODYs trap (well driven) anywhere from 102-107mph stock. I also know what they run, having run against several in my basically stock SS. Gear ratio also has a lot to do with it, my 342s aren't that great for the 1/4 but they're plenty sufficient to spank 3v GTs.

    At sea level well driven my car (mods listed in my videos) should run 12.8-13.0 @ 108-110mph on street tires but that's just speculation based on cars on here with similar mods.
