I recently bought a '69 Bandmaster Reverb with the dripedge cabinet and the original speaker cab for $350. It was a closet treasure. Anyway, the 12" speakers had been removed and a single 15" JBL installed, so it sounded odd. I left the JBL and added a 12" Fender Utah speaker, recapped the head and blackfaced it to roughly '65 specs. I love it. If you crank it, you get the amazing overdrive and the cleans are awesome too. Pedals offer more variety, buy I've found my sound.

I have an chance to buy one of these reasonable but from the demos ive seen (every single one of them) the only reason to have these is if your going to plunk around on low volume with that trem and verb thing. thats nice but i need more than that.

It's an original '64 with original cab, think thats worth only $800? If so maybe I will just throw that offer out to him.
Deal of no Deal:
Should i buy a 1979 Bandmaster Reverb with 2x12 cabinet for $800? It looks like it just came out of the box.
By the Way, i really like the tone and playing.

IMHO, with the cab included and the good condition you describe, that sounds like a pretty good deal. I think most experts (which I'm not) would point out that the circuit on a 1979 Fender tube amp is different and generally considered inferior to the Blackface-era Fenders. But if you play it and like the way it sounds, who am I to dissuade you from buying it at that price? You obviously have a good ear for tone!

Sounds nice, really considering one of these with original cab/speaker for 1600$

No, Sunbeam, about 1/2 that, at most. A much better deal than most new tube amps of comparable power, in my opinion.
