Orange and Rockland / Con Edison Sub Station Site Danger on Ramsey NJ Bike Path

Con Ed / Orange & Rockland / Rockland Electric own this sub station site on the busy Ramsey bike path, next to Tisdale elementary school, ponds and houses. The site was decommissioned over 16 years ago under a system that apparently did not require testing of the site or soil. Incredibly the NJ state requirments at the time seemed to allow self-policing for shutting down a site. Almost three years ago I began requesting the site be tested and cleaned up. I have met and corresponded with Orange and Rockland, the Borough Of Ramsey Council and administration. To date the site remains untouched, untested, unsafe and unattractive. Call or email Mayor Botta and his fellow council members and ask them to fight to get this site cleaned up!
