This is my homemade CNC router cutting a Part for my work out of starboard plastic. I am trying different speeds and ramping verses plunge. Ramping makes small chips at the start of the cut which eliminates the long shavings caught on the bit causing vibration.

  • Yes I designed it using solidworks. I am working on my second router and a cnc plasma . I will try to post more built-threads as I go.

  • The last cut was suspose to be .03 of a cut to clean up the outer surface but I forgot the .0 and put.3 so it made a full cut. It still handled the cut just fine.

I didnt keep any photos or videos while I built it. If you need any help let me know I can try to help.

  • Nice chips and speed. Correct cutting speed and feed rate is very important. Good luck in work!
