You wouldn't believe how they got free actors to do the interviews: They asked the people what they thought of black Zimbabweans and then videotaped the response.

omg, there's even sharlto copley in it...neill blomkamp was 25 when doing that. crazy! just saw district 9 and it's such an amazing movie. looking forward for anything to come

I am so happy D9 was made instead of Halo. With D9 you get a memorable movie and I just don't think Halo would of provided that same recognition.

Avatar had a budget of $190,000,000 (estimated), not 400mil. It says it at the IMDb.

oh right, it was reported earlier that it cost 400mil and that it was the highest costing film so far, so I took that for granted, expesially as it boasts new technolgy never before seen, and has been under work for about 4-5 years.
