Gov. Sarah Palin: "What Does A VP Do"?

Just on the heels of the Democratic National Convention and Barack Obama's stirring speech, we have Senator John McCain selecting Governor Sarah Palin who admitted on "Kudlow and Company" that she didn't kow what the VP job called for.
She said this less than two months ago and at a time when her name was in consideration for the Vice Presidential candidacy.
I found this on YouTube and took a shot of it here. But the main question is why would McCain;s staff select someone who made a statement like that, let alone the other problems she brings surrounding the firing scandal.
