We have been enjoying the older version of this game, (Mexico is not included), for neartly 20 years, and have some of the varients. I agree that a 2-player game works best with the empire series. Many new games have spiced up the gaming table, but this series still holds a place for those times when we seek a game with more casual paceing. "Iron Dragon" is a fantasy-based varient that livens up the game a bit with foreman that carry special abilities. We enjoy this series of games. Good Review
@batdoguk Nice, I play some of these euro games on yucata.de and other websites. I'll check it out thanks.

@Tapewormz There is a digital version out there - look for Empire Builder Pronto. Costs about $25 but has a 30-day demo.

This game would lend itself well to a digital medium. Probably cut down on some downtime if it was.

Not sure about this one. I have reservations about any game where I have to erase the board after play. ;)

I recommend getting a Plexiglas sheet and drawing the track with a dry or wet erase marker.
