German ME 262 and USAAF B-17

Not sure if the 262's are fighting the B-17's or not. Still some GREAT footage of the 262 in flight as well as combat pics of the 262 (possibly) downing a B-17.

Chuck Yeager shot down two me-262 flying a p-51 mustang during the war. You can have a superior plane like the ME-262 but if you don't have a superior pilot flying them they are useless.

what a great plane... 1945 USAAF attacked a German city. 500 B17 and 500 escort combat aircraft... against 14 Me 262. They shot 30% of their bombers down then the USAAF had to cancel the attack and the American generals thought about attacking Germany only at night! 12 Me 262 returned to base!

@Steve96461 Guess what a 'war of attrition' is called? war. Don't need to make excuses for the nazis. They lost because of a bad idea to begin with, bad strategy, bad leaders, pure evil at the top, and sheer stupidity for not understanding what the US entering the war would mean. Many dumb stupid adversaries of the US have underestimated, including saddam and bin laden. If you're an enemy of the US, the US will keep coming at you and attacking you and utterly defeat you in the end.

@Fishtowner666 |: At least the Germans could build such Aircraft. Chuck Yeager got 11.5 official victories many of the German pilots were in the 200's. The Germans wasted the allies on a military scale it was the combined economies and forces the allies that enabled a war of attrition which led to the defeat of the Germans.

German jets flew circles around their allied opponents. Concerning your item ´superior pilots´: Have a look on the ranking of the most successful fighter pilots of WW ll. Among the first 400(!) positions you´ll find no USAF pilot. Think of it !!!

Fishtowner666, was Yeager a "superior" pilot because he shot two planes without gas during the final? Thats not gallantry, it was just opportunism..or maybe cowardice.
