Jack Brooks - World Humanitarian Aid Worker and Ecological Water Delivery Expert, gives a Winter tour of the Ecological, Human, and Wildlife disaster that Quebec's Gaz Metro - through buying of Green Mountain Power - is trying to wreck on Vermont - in this case the Lowell Industrial Wind Project that Gaz Metro advertises on Vermont Public Radio and The Burlington Free Press as the Kingdom Wind Project.
Jack has Parkinson's - his wife - Laura Jacoby is currently in Iraq , the Director of delivering aid and services to refugees. Both Jack and Laura have spent years of their lives helping people and the environment in War and Disaster Zones. In this sit down interview Jack pleas with the people of Vermont and the judges of the Vermont Service Board to stop this insanity - the Industrial Wind Generators - which are NOT green except for the millions of dollars in incentives that American Tax payers will give out for them. (This is a "corporate welfare" and is a worse scam than the Mortgage scam)
We need your aid in stopping this here in Vermont and all over America.

Here is a letter that Jack worte:
Below is a opinion piece submitted to the Burlington Free Press from Jack Brooks, a neighbor of the Lowell wind project.
I would like to address four issues concerning the proposed Industrial Wind Project on the Lowell Mountains.
1st: that it was a free and fair election to allow the industrial sized wind towers to be erected on top of the Lowell ridge line, even Governor Peter Shumlin praised the community input. The ballot for the wind towers offered the town of Lowell a minimum of $450,000 per year for the life of the project: this equates to the town's annual budget. As one of the poorest towns in Vermont, is Lowell's vote any surprise? My property abuts the proposed project with a 459 foot tower within 188 feet of my property line, yet I live in Eden. I didn't get to vote, I get no tax break and I won't be able to access my property near the tower due to safety concerns. My neighbor, also in Eden, has a spectacular view of this ridge line, and his business is dependent on this view. The inhabitants of 4 other towns will be impacted in terms of their health, businesses, and property values, yet their votes don't count. Two towns have hired lawyers to represent them in the court hearings and 3 towns have written letters with grave concerns if this project is to be approved. Doesn't their input count?
2nd: private property rights. People say that one should be allowed to build whatever they want on their property.. I'm all for property rights but when my neighbor wants to build something as large as industrial sized wind towers that will keep me up at night due to noise and prevent me from accessing my property due to safety concerns then that neighbor should not be allowed to build that structure unless he can mitigate the adverse impact on his neighbors. Every State in the union has a water quality and waste water law that restricts where one can install a septic system. The law requires buffer zones between the septic system and the neighboring property lines because if there is a failure, the waste has the potential to negatively affect the neighbor. What is so different about these industrial sized winds towers?
3rd: the need to produce our own electricity and become less dependent on foreign oil. 72% of all oil in the USA is used in transportation (2009 Department of Energy). The Natural Resource Defense Council suggests 4 ways to reduce oil consumption, and they all have to do with transportation and heating homes with oil. Transporting electricity is also inefficient
4th: the idea that these towers are green energy. Blowing apart a ridge top, altering the hydrology of the area, displacing wildlife, killing migratory bats and birds and increasing erosion in the affected area is not what I would call green. The State biologist, fish and wildlife personnel and water quality experts have opposed this project yet the administration has endorsed it. If the state was to offer low cost loans for solar panels, especially to farmers, and required that the electric company pay market rate for any excess energy given to the grid instead of only offering net metering, we would go a long way toward producing our own electricity at home and benefiting Vermonters. It would also create more local jobs in the mid to long term.
The company proposing this project is from Canada (Gaz Metro) and is going through Green Mountain Power. They are throwing money at the state. Who will pay for the mess they leave behind?

What did someone who listed a dislike vote not like? The Truth? the fact that Jack Brooks is a water expert who knows the blasting is ruining the head waters on Lowell Mountains that feed people's wells and wildlife areas? The fact that Jack Brooks and his wife, Laura Jacoby have risked their lives in the Peace Corps and War Zone/Disaster Zone relief in Bosnia, Africa and Iraq for many years? That Jack has Parkinsons? The only reason to dislike this is if you are getting graft

Jack - thank you for showing us your life and standing up for what the current Governor Shumlin and Mary Powell of Quebec's Gaz Mettro's Green Mountain Power want to destroy. This is so sad - by using millions in false advertising, a high power legal team and "Expert Witnesses" that lied - they were able to take your life from you and ruin the mountains . . . Shame!!!
