E-tip video Nonprofit Marketing to Youth Audiences

This educational video was produced for a group on nonprofit communicators in Northeast Indiana. The content of the video came directly from a marketing survey we conducted with this nonprofit group. Our goal was to find out what worked best for them, as nonprofit communicators, in regards to marketing to younger audiences. We felt it was important to learn what nonprofits are doing to market to youth, as well as to share good marketing ideas with peer organizations. This video highlights some of the key findings from our non profit communications survey.

One of the highlights from this survey was a question asking the group to rank the effectiveness of different PR tactics based on their own experiences. This ranking revealed that grassroots marketing is the most commonly used and successful method for reaching youth audiences. The success of grassroots marketing is likely due to the fact that it reaches the audience where theyre at in their lifestyle. Of all the somewhat useful or most valuable answers, the top five all fell into the grassroots marketing category.
