52 is an art exhibit in which four artists, marisol diaz, Gregg Emery, Nova Gutierrez and Brewster Smith exhibited art work that responds to a deck of 52 playing cards. Artist marisol diaz chose to recreate the mexican card game Loteria by directly illustrating on Shrinky Dinks and exploring the 'risk' factor of play by allowing her illustrations to Shrink into a card-sized Dink.

  • The way to make your shrink art not stick is to dust it lightly with corn starch . Put it in a sachet -bag and lightly pounce across the piece. As far as the parchment paper ,that works better under the shrink sheet so it will not stick to the pan . but the cornstarch works just as well in that case. ;0

  • I noticed your first piece was on white shrink art. I had horrible problems w/the white shrink art pages from Grafix. What brand do you use? Your ART in Frakin AMAZING!!! Joyce

  • If you place parchment paper over your aluminum foil, the plastic will not stick in the middle when it shrinks. This also allows you to color on both sides of the plastic, withouth fear of losing any of your beautiful artwork.

  • I've heard that using an embossing gun (kind of like a small, hot hair dryer) works better than using an oven, but I haven't tried it. Gorgeous artwork!

  • very cool shrinky dinks and a great show!
