Yeah, your run on the video is pretty much same lines I take, I hit about same top speed going into turn 1, around 122mph. I still haven't nailed turns 5-6 as well as I want.

Thanks for this video. I signed up for a driver's ed at Roebling Road at the end of March. My 08 GTI is about the same specs (DSG, stage 2 APR, ATP downpipe, P-flow), but I'll be running with the stock suspension/tires/brakes. I might upgrade the tires but can't afford suspension work. Definitely need to get me a camera mount too. :)

yup, you can pass on the straight before 9 ( I call it 8 for some reason). I run white solo group, I can pass there too, but my pass extended into the corner, so I got a bit of an earful. I'm running Roebling a couple more times this fall with my Mk5, this time with H2Sport camber plates, car has much more grip going into turns.

9/12-13 with Florida Crown PCA, then again Nov 7-8 with Darkside at Roebling. Weekend of 10/24 there are DE's at Roebling and Road Atlanta, haven't which yet.

cool, I ran roebling a few times in the spring with florida crown. I may go there with them in september or I may go to sebring that same weekend with PBOC.

Surprised you didn't get black flagged for passing on turn 8. That's a no no at a DE! Looks like a nice run though. I made a similar pass there at Roebling and got scolded!

do you mean around the 2:05 mark? Normally you're right, in HPDE 1 and 2 there shouldn't be any passing in the turns. However, that type of pass was allowed and discussed in class. It was declared that any passes given on the straight between 8 and 9 can be completed while entering T9 as long as the leading car stays track-right and the pass is completed by pit-in.
