This is what I live with. You might not want to stay for the entire 8 minutes, but wait until the 1 minute mark where the time appears on my alarm clock. (1:36 AM) That house and that dog weren't there when I bought my house; it used to be a quiet neighborhood. I've filed numerous complaints, and my case is finally going to be heard. I would appreciate any comments; I've endured this for over 3 years.

  • Good point to bring up about you transportation job, I am also under "hours of service" guidelines. I have the same problem with backyard neighbors. Thier viciouse dogs bark at me through he chainlink fence. Dogs charge at me to attack while i am in my backyard.. Not a word to their dogs, even when they are present in there backyard.

I blasted them with my home made ultra sonic hi-fi system.

    Peace and quiet.!!!

lack of sleep is worse than torture.!!

    too late to post details.

    tommorrow!

  • @ChueyMr11 Thank you for your comment. For those who don't know about "hours of service", it is a federally mandated requirement for certain workers to be well-rested and alert when reporting for duty. There may be a written complaint procedure in your city, as there is in Los Angeles. I used to call the police, with no results. In fact, my first call to the police about the dog was March 5, 2007 at 4:15 AM. Nearly 4 years ago, as of today's date! It has been a long and agonizing process.

  • man you are very pateint. i love dogs but would have prob had to throw finley crushed glass mixed in with ball of groundbeef up there which would have painlessly killed him very fast. would be a shame though because it is not the dogs fault but obvious that he gets no attention anyway so what kind of life is that. oh and after that scumbag lawyer acted the way he did it would have been on, i would not beat his ass as he would sue you but many things can be done in secrect to make his life hell.

  • admire being patient for more than three years. if i were you, i can't bear so long time. maybe i will sue the owner of that dog.

  • we in North carolina have a trick for barking dogs. it's called a water hose. after a couple times the dog will stop and water does not hurt the dog.

  • Have you had any results from the hearing yet? I'm sorry to hear that you've had to put up with this awful noise, and worse...try to do your job while sleep deprived because of it. When I was being severely sleep deprived because of my neighbor's barking dog I was afraid to drive. I felt like I was in a fog & my brain kept wandering. I also caught myself falling into microsleeps. Sleep deprivation almost killed me, & when I had to drive it could have also killed someone else.

  • @MrMichaelAmick -- The hearing was Tuesday. Tuesday night and Wednesday night, (last night), I did not hear the dog at all! I actually slept through the night in my own home for two nights in a row! I hope it lasts.

  • @wishingforquiet Reading this made my blood pressure go up ... but listening to your replies made

me laugh, way to go Nance. I mean .. was this guys under oath ??

Just out curiosity .. have you shaken the asshole at all ... is the barking as bad STILL ?? Anyways cant wait to hear what happens .. let us know.

  • Last night, I looked him up online, and couldn't find him. After trying a different spelling of his name, suddenly he appeared. L A City had misspelled his name. I followed the link to the law firm where he works. There he was, with photo. He's a partner in the firm, and here's the stunning kicker: He specializes in Employment and Labor Litigation! He advocates for fair and equitable treatment of working people!

How ironic. I guess that only applies to his clients.

  • He said, "This woman is a complainer; that's what she does." He said he had notes from all his neighbors, written by me, complaining about their dogs. I said, "Prove it. Let's see them." He said he had them at home. I said, "This is the hearing. Now would be the time to present your evidence." The Hearing Officer said, "Yes, this would be the time." Of course there are no notes.

It want on like this for over an hour. I was exhausted by the end of the hearing.
