To go or not to go...that is the question I am asking the YouTube community. I wanna know from current or past MFA students, professors or anyone who lives in Baltimore, Maryland - what do think? Do you recommend anywhere else for an MFA? Thanks guys!

  • Nice painting.

  • Thanks :)

  • Doing what you want to do doesnt always have to be hard, and artists are not always starving. Atleast apply first and see what they offer you. Baby steps my friend, baby steps always.

  • good advice. Thanks :)

  • U will likely feel ok living ur life as a designer a good payin job n stable life.Eventually u'll feel like a robot. But if you choose to go to graduate school n go 4 ur passion u will live everyday doing dat one thing u love.I don't know how well artist get paid but i am sure its not as much as u'll get paid in ur company. So think about dat also.Think about wat u care about, what don't u care about, wat principles do u want 2 live by.

  • Oh yeah...lol I understood it yesterday but replied today and apparently had forgotten your whole point...reread half of it and completely altered your intent. *Sigh*...yes i should visit baltimore! The city and school are equally important to me :)

  • Oh... no, that's not what I was saying at all. I was saying that for a while I was kind of negative about Baltimore. But then I started spending more time in DC, where the people are very self-important and full of themselves, and it made me appreciate how much friendlier and down-to-earth the people in Baltimore are. If it's the city you're more worried about (rather than grad school itself), then you should visit Baltimore and check it out.

  • I think we say the same thing in Columbus. Just days ago it was 19 degrees and today it was like 65. And no...i've never seen a John Waters movie but I do know of him. Haha so you like DC better than Baltimore...that doesn't help me at all lol.

  • See, this is what I mean... 2 days ago it was freezing cold, today it is 67 degrees. in January. we have a saying here, "don't like the weather in Maryland? wait 5 minutes."

  • Hey Mike, it's a new year, and I wonder if you're any closer to making a decision. I've never bothered to register at You Tube until I saw your Celine video (Such fun!) and then stumbled on this one. And, for some reason, I registered just so I could respond to you. I'm a Writing Director at a firm in Memphis. I work with lots of graphic designers and art directors. And I love them. I guess my question for you would be—what do you picture yourself doing after getting the MFA?
