he has confusions with aperture,shutter n ISO.........all these elements together called as an exposure......he uses d word exposure for shutter its a huge mistake......greater depth of fied can be acheived by using lower f stop means wide opening of the aperture...........

If you have a Canon DSLR and you change the lenses on it, then you probably already know how to create shallow DOF or (BOKEH!!!)

This is not the correct way to do this, you should keep your shutter setting to 50 to keep a film 'look' rather than it looking like nice video. You should use an Neutral Density filter to bring down the light level to allow you to run the lens iris wide or near to wide open.
Will an 18-55 on a Rebel T3 work? Upcoming birthday gift and I'm just wondering.

@dopeyfries No we don't own any other canon cameras. However, the process and controls are going to be effectively the same across the range.

Kinda bumbed, I just bought the camera and thought I could get this effect with the kit lense, now i have to spend more money =(

@jehfree562 You can to some extend create this effect with the kit lens. Your best option would be to use the information in this video - play with your settings and see what you can do!
