@lolharbandhar - At some settings and with certain guitars we thought they sounded indistinguishable.

I picked A it sounded more open and less bassy

Wow, I just checked the price for a Centaur on ebay. After hearing this I'd definitely go for a Kalamazoo instead.
-
wow, the kalamazoo is both brighter and darker, yet the midrange seems to sing even more than the klon. It definitely has a fuller tone

John Krazinski plays guitar!

Loved my Klon, but sold it after seeing what people were willing to Pay for it. Its a Great pedal , But NO pedal is worth North of $600! if you need a pedal that bad you need to start looking at a new Amp or some other gear. Just my $0.02

In a live setting, you, nor your audience could tell the difference. Klon is over-hyped.

@Semach4444 Yep, me too. I thought the Klon sounded like I needed to pop my ears or something and wasn't hearing right. Almost like it has bronchitis lol. Probably sounds cool in a mix, I never write anything off I just have to chose because I'm not full of cash lol.

I preferred B -- the Kalamazoo. I thought they were pretty close but I didn't like the Klon's less-defined bass.
-
@lolharbandhar me too but the Klon has a slightly higher gain as you can here it sustain abit more at the end with up-picks. Good pedal if you like abit of smooth fizz.
-
@lilnetty2 of course you prefer the Klon after you paid how much for it?
ProGuitarShop/Andy,
Out of curiosity, which version/what year of the Klon did you use for the smackdown; gold or silver? Thanks.

@teleluvver - We used a Gold model for the smackdown.
