BASF's special new pigments allow black and other dark surfaces -- not just white -- to reflect infrared radiation. As a result, heat absorption in vehicles is reduced and energy is saved that would otherwise be needed for air conditioning.
The new highly efficient iGloss® clearcoat maintains the scratch resistance and long-term durability of glossy effect coatings.
The smart for vision features a white special-effect coating with glass flakes that create a gleaming metallic look. In addition, the copper colored passenger cell accentuates the car's impact. The secret behind that: BASF liquid metal coatings contain aluminum flakes that appear to change from light to dark on the surface depending on the viewer's perspective.
