@flowerpower111 Of course if you are just starting it does not matter too much, since youre just gonna use the synths as samplers. Im just getting into the sounddesign myself

@flowerpower111 The difference is the way they treat the sound. Thor 4 example is a polyphonic synthetizer, Malström is a Graintable Sintethyser. I am no engineer so I cant explain the techniches on it, but I can just tell u this, every synth has its effects, its oscilators, its fillters, and they dont do the same thing. So basically there cames a point where you get so deep in beatmaking and sounddesign that you have to know wich synth to use to get the sound u want.

Why don't you just use the lead called "Hip Hop Lead" in the Subtractor instead of going through all of this hassle? Tweak its portamento, filter, oscillator, add in a slight delay/reverb feel and voila!

The point is to learn how it's made :) That way you have a better understanding so you can make synths with similar qualities to them!

I think gangsta rap is a) frickin' cool and b) hilarious.
There is still plenty of awesome hip hop about that doesn't need to resort to guns, hoes and violence :D Everyone wins!
