A truly sad and devasting loss to aviation. The airframe could perhaps be repaired but Bertil would always be missed. A pilot of his experience a manner will be sorely missed. RIP and condolences to his friends and family. So so sad ............

Sad to hear of this fellow's passing. The photos on the WIX Board of the aircraft make it appear that it may be returned to the air someday. There is supposed to be video of the crash, which will hopefully prevent speculation as to the reason.

It's a Griffon. MkXVIII. The Packard Merlin powered the MkXVI (which Biltema also own an example of).

@Mattebubben There is a reason the airshow was canceled....Bertil crashed the Spit and was killed in Norway yesterday....

@FSchmehl not Griffon Engine its a Pakard Merlin i thought it was a Griff at first but looked into it im going to a airshow next week and this bird and the p51 owned by the same guy where supposed to be there but now they have Chancled so im kinda mad about that =(
